Dear Au Pair,
We are an active family of two working parents and two little healthy boys of 14 and 13 years old. We are Italian and Dutch and at home we speak three languages: Italian, Dutch and English. We are searching for a new Au Pair to extend our family with a warm and caring person to assist us with the care of our kids and with house chores. We offer you to genuinely become a part of our family. We are a fourty something couple, easy going and we want you to feel at home with us.
We live in a spacious house in Wassenaar, a small but very international and upscale community close to the sea-side and just 20 minutes away by bus from big cities like The Hague or Leiden. In our surrounding there are many other au pairs from the Philippines and other countries, and you will quickly make new friendships here.
Both our kids go five days a week to school which is about 10 minutes located from our house by bike. The kids have a busy life after school made up of sports activities, playdates with friends, etc. When the kids are at home they like to play in the garden or inside, play games, playing (computer) games, having friends over for playing etc.
As a member of our family, you eat together with the family and you are invited to join us in the family activities, like outings and celebrations, but you may also choose to spend your free time as you like. You will have your own room with tv, internet access and laptop. You will also have a bathroom on your own, but you are sharing this occasionally with guests. A cell sim card is provided by us as well as a monthly contribution for public transportation costs. Your health insurance is paid by us and we pay you generous and provide monthly pocket money.

Our pair should be neat and organized, supporting us in the house chores (keeping the house clean and organised at all times, making up the rooms, vacuuming, laundry, ironing, etc.) and comfortable to prepare healthy meals. Your work days are from Monday to Friday, starting at 7 in the morning till aprox. 7 in the evening. Schedules may be irregular, but you will be pretty much occupied throughout the day as there are always a lot of things to do in our house and for the family. Saturday and Sunday are your free days, although we ask you to help out during birthday parties or other events that happen occasionally on a weekend.
Example of your daily routine:
- Prepare breakfast and start the morning routine.
- House chores throughout the day.
- Be around for the kids at home on school free days and after school. (they are pretty much independent though, you don't have to supervise them)
- Prepare dinner.
- Having dinner together and cleaning kitchen and dining room after the dinner.
- Making sure the house is neat and organised throughout the whole day and when your shift ends.

Ideally you have experience as being au pair abroad, domestic helper in your country or similar jobs like the hospitality industry.

Dutch law allows au pairs only for contracts up to 12 months maximum and if you have been au pair before in the Netherlands, unfortunately by law you cannot apply again as au pair in The Netherlands.

What we ask from you:
* You are a positive, warm-hearted, loving and responsible person who genuinely wants to be helpful to the host family and contribute to the family. You feel at ease in family situations different from yours. You have an intrinsic motivation to support your host family in the best possible way and to be of help wherever you can.
* You have a strong moral compass willing to ensure the safety of our children through good judgement. You have a natural understanding what is acceptable and not acceptable behaviour and you are able to exert authority over the kids and setting boundaries for them.
* You are a neat and organized person and you have an immaculate sharp eye for details in all your activities. You don’t like when the house is not clean or things are lingering around in places where they should not be.
* You are a quick learner and are easily able to pick up new routines and habits and remembering them. You reach out to us if you are uncertain about something or when there is something on your mind. We care about the well-being of our au pair and are always ready to listen to you.
* Being able to ride a bike is a plus (but not a requirement). The Netherlands is great for biking and it is a healthy and quick way to get around.
* You are comfortable to prepare healthy meals and enjoy discovering and trying new recipes. We give you a lot of room to try out recipes and cook your favourite dishes.
* You speak proper English and you feel very comfortable in communicating with others.
* You have considerable experience in supporting a host family and doing all possible house chores. Preferably you have experience away from your home town and family.
* You are eager to learn new cultures and you easily adapt to a new environment. You feel comfortable and relaxed in new environments.
