Dear Host Family,
My name is Shannel, I am 21 years old and I come from Nairobi, Kenya. I am a warm, caring, responsible and open-minded person, and I am very excited about the possibility of becoming an au pair in Germany.
I have always enjoyed being around children and I love seeing their personalities develop, listening to their little stories and being part of their everyday lives. I am patient and understanding, and I believe children need not only care and attention, but also someone who makes them feel safe, comfortable and valued. I would be happy to play with them, read stories, help with homework, prepare simple meals, accompany them to their activities and support them with their daily routines.
For me, becoming an au pair is much more than simply travelling to another country. I would love to become a trusted member of my host family, experience everyday German family life and learn about German traditions and culture. At the same time, I would be happy to share my Kenyan culture, traditions, food, music and stories with your family.
I have been learning German for several years and have completed my studies up to B2 level. Learning German has been an important part of my journey, and I am looking forward to improving even further through everyday conversations and living with a German family. I am also hoping to continue building my future in Germany, particularly in the nursing field, so I see the au pair experience as a wonderful opportunity to grow both personally and linguistically.
I am someone who values respect, honesty, communication and kindness. I understand that every family has its own routines, rules and way of doing things, and I am willing to adapt and learn. I would also love to have an open and friendly relationship with my host parents, where we can communicate honestly and comfortably.
I am currently preparing for my move to Germany and I am on the waiting list for a visa appointment. I am serious about the au pair program and committed to completing the necessary steps to make this experience possible.
Most importantly, I hope to find a family where we can feel comfortable with each other, respect one another and create beautiful memories together. I would love to become someone your children can trust and look forward to spending time with.
