Dear Host Family,

My name is Lea, I am 24 years old, single, and from the Philippines. I am an only child. My father is a farmer, and sadly, my mother passed away five years ago. I graduated from senior high school, and I am currently working as an all-around housemaid and babysitter.

Working with children and helping a family is something I truly enjoy. In my current job, I take care of two children, an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old, both boys. My daily responsibilities include preparing breakfast and snacks, waking the children up, helping them dress and bathe, playing with them, and keeping them active and engaged. I also stay home with them when they are sick or during their holidays.

Besides childcare, I am experienced in taking care of a household. I make the family’s beds, organize their rooms and playroom, do the laundry, dust, vacuum and mop the floors, help in the kitchen, and clean up after meals. I am used to being responsible for many different tasks and making sure that the home is clean, organized, and comfortable to live in.

Some of the Filipino dishes I know how to cook are Adobo, Sinigang, Sisig, Pancit, Humba, Kaldereta, and Afritada. I can also prepare simple baked and traditional Filipino foods such as pancakes, Puto, and Pandesal. At the same time, I would be very happy to learn your family’s favorite meals and recipes.

I would describe myself as responsible, hardworking, caring, patient, flexible, and easy to get along with. I am the kind of person who notices when something needs to be done and takes the initiative to do it. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and caring for them. I understand that children need not only supervision, but also patience, attention, kindness, and someone who will make them feel safe and comfortable.

If I become part of your family, I would love to learn about your culture, traditions, and way of life. I am open-minded and willing to adapt to your family’s routines, customs, and expectations. I hope to build a relationship with my host family based on trust, respect, good communication, and understanding. I would also be happy to share my Filipino culture, food, and traditions with you.

I am very excited about the opportunity to meet a wonderful host family and become a positive and helpful part of your home.
