Dear Future Host Family,

Hi! I’m Althea! If I had to describe myself, I’d say I’m easygoing, curious, and always up for trying something new. I enjoy the little things such as good food, random conversations, laughing over silly things, and spending time with kids and the people I feel comfortable around.

I’m happiest when I’m outside. I love hiking and have climbed different mountains every now and then, which has definitely taught me that the best views usually require a little effort (and sometimes a lot of water!). I also enjoy cooking. I’d love to share these things with your family, and maybe introduce you to some Filipino food along the way.

One thing I’m really looking forward to about being an au pair is experiencing the everyday side of life in another country. I want to learn how your family celebrates birthdays, spends weekends, handles ordinary busy days, and all those little things that make a home feel like home. I’d also love to share stories about where I come from and maybe teach the children a few Filipino words.

I hope to become more than just someone who helps around the house. I’d love to be someone your children can laugh with, talk to, and feel comfortable being themselves around. And who knows we might end up with plenty of funny stories to tell by the end of my stay!
