Dear family

I’m a warm, responsible, and dependable person who would love the opportunity to become an au pair and be part of a family in a meaningful way. I value kindness, respect, good communication, and creating a comfortable environment for the people around me.

The idea of becoming an au pair appeals to me because I see it as much more than travelling to another country or simply helping with childcare. I see it as an opportunity to experience another culture, become part of a family’s everyday life, learn from one another, and build a relationship based on trust. I want to bring my own personality, culture, experiences, and skills into the home.

I’m naturally caring and attentive, and I enjoy being helpful. I’m the kind of person who notices when something needs to be done and likes to contribute rather than simply wait to be asked. My experience as a personal assistant has helped me become organized, responsible, and comfortable managing everyday tasks. I’ve learned the importance of being punctual, paying attention to details, following through on responsibilities, and, most importantly, being someone others can depend on.

I believe these qualities are especially important when working with a family because welcoming an au pair into your home requires a great deal of trust. You are not just looking for someone who can complete tasks. You are looking for someone who will respect your home, your children, your routines, and your values. I understand that responsibility, and I would take it seriously.
My personality

I would describe myself as friendly, patient, observant, and adaptable. I can be quite calm and easygoing, but I’m also responsible and know when something needs to be taken seriously.

I enjoy getting to know people and learning about their experiences. I’m open-minded and interested in different cultures and ways of life, which is one of the things that excites me most about becoming an au pair.

I also value personal space and boundaries. I understand that every family has different expectations, routines, and ways of communicating. I wouldn’t expect things to work exactly the way they do in my own home. I’m willing to listen, ask questions, and learn how your family does things.

I believe communication makes living together much easier. If I’m unsure about something, I would rather ask than make an assumption. If there is something I need to improve, I’m open to constructive feedback. And if I notice something that I think you should know about, I’m comfortable communicating it respectfully.

I’m not looking to enter a family and pretend that I already know everything. I’m looking for an experience where I can learn, grow, and contribute at the same time.

My experience with children

I enjoy spending time with children, and I understand that caring for them requires patience, attention, and consistency.

Children are all different. Some are very outgoing, some are quiet, some ask endless questions, while others need more time to become comfortable with someone new. I wouldn’t expect every child to respond to me immediately. I would take the time to get to know their personality and understand what makes them feel comfortable.

I believe children deserve to be treated with respect. At the same time, I understand that being caring does not mean allowing everything. Children need routines, boundaries, and consistency, and I’m comfortable following the approach that parents have established.

I would be happy to help with everyday routines such as getting ready in the morning, preparing for school, helping with homework, keeping children company, preparing simple meals, playing games, reading, doing creative activities, and helping with bedtime routines where required.

I also believe that some of the simplest activities can become meaningful experiences for children. Reading a story, going for a walk, playing a game, helping with something around the house, or simply talking about their day can all help build a connection.

My goal would be to become someone the children feel safe and comfortable around while still respecting my role as an au pair and the parents' authority.

Supporting education

I can also support children with English and Mathematics.

I enjoy helping people understand things, and I’m patient when explaining concepts. I understand that children don't all learn at the same pace, so I wouldn't want a child to feel embarrassed because they don't understand something immediately.

If a child is struggling with a particular topic, I would try explaining it differently, breaking it into smaller steps or using simple examples that relate to everyday life.

For me, tutoring isn't only about getting the correct answer. I want a child to understand what they are doing and gradually become more confident in their own ability.

I can assist with homework, revision, reading, basic study organization and preparing for exams.
