I’d love to tell you a little about myself. My name is Lucy, I’m 23 years old from Nairobi, Kenya, and I’m currently living in Qatar, where I work part-time as a nanny and as a hairdresser/nail technician. My time in Qatar is coming to an end in a month, so I’m excited for my next journey as an au pair.
I’ve looked after children in both Kenya and Qatar, and I genuinely enjoy being around them. I see myself more as a big sister stepping in — someone they can play with, talk to, laugh with and feel comfortable around. I know kids aren’t always going to sit quietly and look perfect; they can be loud, curious, playful and a little mischievous ??. I’m comfortable with that and know how to handle those moments with patience while still setting boundaries.
When I discovered au pairing in Europe, I thought, why not give it a try? I’d love to experience a new culture, grow as a person and become part of a family while doing something I genuinely enjoy.
I’m caring, easygoing and responsible, but most importantly, I want the children to feel that they have someone they can trust and have fun with. I’d also be happy to provide references from my former employers in Qatar.
