Hi, I'm Liam!

I'm a 22-year-old British/Irish graduate currently travelling through South America, and I'm genuinely excited about the idea of becoming part of a family as an au pair. I studied Business Management at the University of Sheffield (2:1) and hold a 120-hour TEFL certificate with a Business English specialisation, but more than any qualification, what's brought me here is real, hands-on experience with children and a genuine love for the day-to-day of family life.

Over the past few months I've spent six weeks teaching English at a school in Quillabamba, Peru, planning lessons for children of different ages and ability levels with very few resources, which taught me to think on my feet and adapt constantly to what actually worked for the kids in front of me. Alongside that, I did private English tutoring in my own time, working one-to-one with students outside the classroom. Most recently, I've spent almost three weeks living with a host family in Buenos Aires, helping look after their two children and pitching in with everyday household life, cooking, tidying, errands, and simply being a present, reliable part of the family. That experience has genuinely confirmed how much I love this kind of role, it's not just about looking after children, it's about being someone a family can trust and rely on day to day.

Before all of this, I spent several years coaching swimming, and I worked in fast-paced hospitality and events roles across the UK, including at Aintree Racecourse, which taught me how to stay calm, think quickly, and communicate well under pressure. I also ran my own small business from the age of 16, so I know what it means to take real ownership of something and follow through.

As a person, I'd describe myself as energetic, warm, and genuinely curious, I love getting to know new people and new places, and I adapt quickly to new environments, which is probably obvious given how much I've travelled recently. I'm an early riser, tidy, easygoing with food, and I bring a lot of patience and creativity to working with kids, I'd rather find a fun way to keep a child engaged than get frustrated when something isn't landing. At the same time, I take responsibility seriously. When I say I'll do something, I follow through.

What I'm looking for is a family where I can genuinely be part of the household, not just staff coming in and out, somewhere with open communication, clear expectations, and room for me to build a real, lasting relationship with your children. I'm flexible on location, I've adapted to very different countries and cultures over the past several months and I'm comfortable wherever the right match happens to be, what matters most to me is finding a family that feels like a good fit.
