Dear Host Family,

My name is Hilda Sonia, but you can call me Sonia. I am 22 years old and I am from Indonesia. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and I am currently working as a daycare teacher while preparing for my Au Pair journey abroad.

I would describe myself as a caring, patient, responsible, open-minded, and easy-going person. I enjoy spending time with children and I am comfortable adapting to different personalities, routines, and environments. I am also someone who is willing to learn, listen, and improve from new experiences.

I have one year of experience working at a daycare, where I mostly cared for children between 1 and 5 years old. I also have experience caring for babies as young as 3 months and children up to elementary school age. My responsibilities included feeding and bottle feeding, changing diapers, bathing, helping children with their daily routines, putting babies to sleep, playing with them, accompanying simple learning activities, and making sure they were safe and comfortable.

During my university community service program, I also had the opportunity to teach kindergarten children. These experiences taught me that every child has different needs and personalities, so patience, attention, and good communication are very important when caring for them.

I have also attended training related to daycare teaching and childcare skills. Although I do not currently have a formal first-aid certificate or a specific infant-care qualification, my daily experience working with young children has given me practical experience in caring for babies and children.

Another important part of my experience is living independently. I have lived away from my parents since I was 18 years old because I moved away for university. This taught me how to manage my daily life, responsibilities, and routines independently. I believe this experience will help me adapt to living with a host family in another country.

I would like to become an Au Pair because I genuinely enjoy being around children, but I also want to experience another culture through everyday family life. I would love to learn about your traditions, language, food, and way of life while sharing Indonesian culture with you as well. I see this experience as an opportunity to grow personally, become more independent, and build a meaningful relationship with a host family.

In my free time, I enjoy reading fiction books, watching movies, hiking, spending time in nature, visiting museums and historical places, exploring art exhibitions, and visiting bookstores. I especially enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with close friends.

As a Muslim, I pray five times a day, so I would appreciate a family who is respectful and understanding of my religious practice. I am also looking for a warm, open-minded, non-smoking and alcohol-free home where cultural and religious differences are respected.

I do not have any tattoos or piercings.
