Introduction
What if the person joining your family could do more than help with the children? What if she could become the person your little ones feel excited to see in the morning, the patient voice helping them understand something new, the extra pair of hands that makes your busiest days easier, and someone you can genuinely trust to care for the people who matter most to you?
That is the kind of au pair I hope to become for your family.
My name is Juvy, a 22-year-old Filipina from the Philippines, and I am looking forward to an opportunity to become part of a host family—not simply as someone who helps with childcare, but as someone who brings warmth, initiative, curiosity, and a genuine willingness to contribute to family life.
A little about me: I have learned to care through experience, to teach through patience, and to take responsibility through work.
My childcare journey began with a Chinese family here in the Philippines, where I cared for a little girl from seven months old until she turned two. Being part of her life during those early years taught me that caring for a child is about so much more than keeping them occupied. It means learning their routines, recognizing their needs, preparing their meals, helping them get ready for school, supporting their learning, playing with them, accompanying them to the park or swimming, and being there when they need comfort or reassurance. It also meant helping her settle down at bedtime and being attentive to her needs throughout the day.
I have also helped care for my nephew, including preparing him for school, assisting with homework, offering comfort, and teaching him values through everyday interactions. These experiences helped me understand that every child has a different personality, pace, and way of expressing themselves. Some days call for playfulness and creativity; others require patience, consistency, and a calm presence. I am willing to learn what works best for each child rather than assuming that one approach fits everyone.
And there is another part of me that I believe would make me a particularly valuable addition to your family: I am a certified TEFL teacher.
I have a genuine interest in helping children learn, communicate, and discover the world around them. My TEFL training has given me a foundation in teaching English as a foreign language, and I would love to incorporate age-appropriate English activities, storytelling, songs, simple conversations, and playful learning into our daily routines whenever appropriate. I want learning to feel natural and enjoyable, not like another obligation for your children.
I also understand that being an au pair is not the same as being a professional teacher or a parent. I would respect your parenting style, follow your family’s routines, and work with you to support your children’s development in a way that feels right for your household.
Beyond childcare, my professional background is in tourism and hospitality. I have worked my way up from front-office staff to Operations Manager at a dive resort in the Philippines. That journey has taught me how to communicate with people from different cultures, stay organized, solve problems, manage responsibilities, and remain composed when several things need attention at once. Hospitality has also taught me something important: making people feel welcome is not just about being polite; it is about noticing what they need, taking initiative, and caring about the little details that make someone’s day easier.
I believe these skills translate naturally into family life. I understand the importance of reliability, respect, communication, and being someone others can count on. I do not expect every day to be easy or perfectly organized, but I believe that a good attitude, honest communication, and a willingness to work together can make a real difference.
When I have free time, I enjoy cooking, keeping my surroundings tidy, exploring new places, and learning about different cultures. I am happy to help with reasonable household tasks related to family life, especially when the children are occupied and there is an opportunity to lend a hand. I would love to learn your family’s favorite recipes, discover the places you enjoy visiting, and experience the everyday traditions that make your home uniquely yours.
I am also excited about the cultural exchange that comes with being an au pair. I would be happy to share Filipino traditions, introduce you to some of our food, and tell you about life in the Philippines. At the same time, I want to learn your language, understand your culture, and experience life from a perspective very different from my own. For me, the most meaningful cultural exchange happens in ordinary moments: conversations around the dinner table, family outings, learning a new recipe, celebrating a special occasion, or laughing together over something that gets lost in translation.
I know that inviting someone from ano
