Hi, my name is Linden!

About Me

I am currently a senior at a small liberal arts college in Illinois, where I am majoring in Education. I grew up in the suburbs of Missouri, but I have always loved being outside, exploring new places, and learning through experiences. I have spent 12 summers at a summer camp in Northern Michigan, including several years as a counselor, which has played a huge role in shaping who I am and my love for working with children.

I am a caring, patient, and responsible person who values communication and creating a safe and welcoming environment for the people around me. Through my education courses and experiences working with children, I have learned how important it is to listen to kids, meet them where they are, and give them opportunities to be independent and curious. I love being active, trying new things, spending time outside, and finding ways to make everyday moments fun.

My Experience with Children

Working with children has been a big part of my life for many years. I have over 10 years of experience working with children ages 0–16 through babysitting, nannying, summer camp, school internships, and after-school care.

At camp, I have worked with girls of many different ages and spent several summers living alongside and caring for campers. I have taught swimming, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, camping skills, and many other outdoor activities. More importantly, I have learned how to build relationships with children, help them work through challenges, and create a space where they feel comfortable being themselves.

My college education has also given me opportunities to work directly in elementary and early childhood classrooms, specifically in the 1st and 3rd grades. Through these experiences, I have learned more about child development, classroom management, play-based learning, and how important relationships are when working with children. My experiences have confirmed that I want to make working with children a major part of my future career.

What I Can Offer

I enjoy being active and spending time outside, but I also love quieter activities like baking, cooking, reading, doing crafts, and playing games. I would be excited to share some of these interests with your children and learn about their interests too.

I am comfortable helping with everyday responsibilities such as preparing meals, cleaning up, doing laundry, and keeping children's spaces organized. I am also happy to help children with schoolwork or practice English in a fun and natural way.

I am CPR and Lifeguard certified and have experience supervising children around water and in outdoor settings. I am responsible and punctual, but I also understand that working with children requires flexibility and patience. I try to be someone that both children and parents can trust.

Why I Want to Be an Au Pair

I have always loved working with children, but I am also excited about the opportunity to experience another culture and become part of a family. I think being an au pair would allow me to learn just as much from a family as I could teach their children.

I am hoping to begin an au pair experience in June 2027 after I graduate from college. I am especially excited about the possibility of spending a longer period of time with a family, building real relationships with the children, and becoming a part of their everyday life. I would love to find a family who is excited to share their culture and traditions with me while also welcoming me into their home.
